Monster Tactics

How to Play

Monster Tactics is an auto-battler — recruit Echoes, place them on your board, and let them fight. Your decisions happen between rounds: economy, leveling, and team composition.

The Basics

Each game pits multiple players against each other. Every round, your team of Echoes fights an opponent's team automatically — you don't control the combat directly. Between rounds you spend gold to recruit new Echoes, refresh the shop, or level up.

If your team loses a round you take damage. When your health reaches zero you're eliminated. Last player standing wins.

Economy & Gold

You earn gold at the start of every round from three sources:

  • Base income — a flat amount every round.
  • Streak bonus — consecutive wins or consecutive losses grant extra gold. Even a loss streak pays off.
  • Interest— for every 10 gold saved you earn 1 bonus gold, up to a maximum of 5 bonus at 50 gold. There's no cap on how much gold you can hold, but the interest benefit stops at 50.

Managing your economy is the most important skill. Knowing when to save (“econ”) and when to spend aggressively (“roll down”) separates good players from great ones.

The Shop

Each round, the shop offers a selection of Echoes to buy. You can spend 2 gold to refresh the shop for a new set of options.

Echoes have a cost tier from 1 to 4 gold (plus Legendaries). Higher cost Echoes are stronger but rarer. Your player level determines the probability of seeing each tier:

1g — Common2g — Uncommon3g — Rare4g — Epic5g — Legendary

Leveling Up

You can spend gold to gain XP and level up. Your level determines two things:

  • Board size — each level lets you place one more Echo on the board.
  • Shop odds — higher levels increase your chances of finding higher-cost Echoes.

Leveling early lets you field more units but drains your economy. Staying low level keeps your gold high but limits your board.

Generations

When you collect three copies of the same Echo they combine into a stronger version — the next Generation. Three Gen 1 Echoes merge into a Gen 2, and three Gen 2 into a Gen 3.

Higher generations are significantly stronger, with boosted stats and enhanced abilities. Chasing a Gen 3 is risky but can win you the game.

Synergies

Each Echo belongs to a biome (Desert, Forest, Mountain, Ocean, Volcano) and has one or more roles and traits. Field enough Echoes from the same category and you activate a synergy bonus that buffs your whole team.

Building your composition around synergies is key — raw stats aren't enough if your team doesn't work together.

Winning

There's no single path to victory. You might fast-level to overwhelm opponents early, or slow-roll to hit powerful Gen 3 units. You might pivot your entire composition mid-game if you find the right units. Adaptation is everything.
